Ferro Titanium

Ferro Titanium is used by stainless steel makers as a stabiliser to prevent chromium carbide forming at grain boundaries and in the production of low carbon steels for sheet production.

Ferro Titanium is manufactured by melting titanium scrap (sponge, chips and solids) with iron in an induction furnace. We source titanium scrap worldwide from ISO 9001:2000 certified and recognised suppliers. We have an extensive scrap processing operation to identify and control titanium scrap. Our ferro titanium is available in standard specification as well as higher grades with low aluminium, low carbon and low oxygen standard grade specifications are as follows:

Standard Grade Chemistry

  • Ti – 68-77%, Al – 5% max, V – 3% max, Si – 0.5% max, Sn – 0.5% max, N2 – 0.5% max, C – 0.2% max, S – 0.05% max, P – 0.05% max

Size: 10-50mm, 5-30mm, 2-10mm, 0-2mm with packing to your specification

Typical Higher Grade(s):

  • Ti 68-72%, Al – 0.5% max, V – 0.5% max, C – 0.10%, N – 0.20%, O – 0.60-0.80%
  • Ti- 68-72%, Al – 2.50% max, V – 1.50% max, N – 0.40% max, O – 1.00% max

Size: 10-50mm, 5-30mm, 2-10mm, 0-2mm with packing to your specification

Ferro Tungsten

Ferro Tungsten is an alloy, which is formed by combining iron and tungsten with a tungsten content range in two grades (A and B) and the content ranges are 75%-82% and 70%-75% respectively.

Ferro Vanadium

The production of ferrovanadium, containing 35–80 percent vanadium, is carried out in an electric-arc furnace. Scrap iron is first melted, and a mixture of V2O5, aluminum, and a flux such as calcium fluoride or calcium oxide is added.

Ferro Niobium

Ferroniobium is an important iron niobium alloy, with a niobium content of 60-70%. It is the main source for niobium alloying of HSLA steel and covers more than 80% of the worldwide niobium production. The niobium is mined from pyrochlore deposits and is subsequently transformed into the niobium pentoxide Nb2O5. This oxide is mixed with iron oxide and aluminium and is reduced in an aluminothermic reaction to niobium and iron. The component metals can be purified in an electron beam furnace or the alloy can be used as it is. For alloying with steel the ferroniobium is added to molten steel before casting. The largest producers of ferroniobium are the same as for niobium and are located in Brazil and Canada.

Ferro Chome

Ferrochrome (FeCr) is an alloy of chromium and iron containing 50% to 70% chromium by weight.Ferrochrome is produced by electric arc carbothermic reduction of chromite. Most of the world’s ferrochrome is produced in South Africa, Kazakhstan and India, which have large domestic chromite resources.

Ferro Molybdenum

Ferro Molybdenum is an alloy which is formed by combining iron andMolybdenum. Ferro Molybdenum is a hardening agent and is found in many alloy steels that are heat-treatable. Molybdenum prevents corrosion in stainless steels, and when mixed with iron, the Molybdenum also strengthens and hardens into austenite.
